What I Learned Reading the NZ Shooter's Manifesto

[Activists]
The mainstream Internet has gone out of its way to scrub any reference to the Christchurch shooter's manifesto from the Internet. While I can appreciate the desire to not make terrorists famous and as a side effect validate their atrocious activities, I think this pales in comparison to a select group of institutions deciding what is and isn't appropriate content for my adult brain to absorb, process, and compute on its own.

Therefore I took the arduous task of navigating the minefield of censorship to read the NZ Shooter's so-called "manifesto" and report what I learned... because if I linked the whole thing, chances are, this site would be erased from most Western search engines. (Yay freedom of speech!)

Note that we here at BSA are completely in favor of any site exercising their right to restrict their systems from promoting hate speech and intolerance. But it's also important to call attention to what is motivating these people - this is a key to how to stop them, and sometimes that requires diving deep into their cesspool. So here are our thoughts on this...

In the wake of the Children's Television Workshop axing a segment where pop singer Katy Perry performed her song on Sesame Street, fearing the singer was too exposed (apparently children are only allowed to see cleavage as a road map to mom's refreshment station), Perry has gone on the offensive in a big way. First showing up on Saturday Night Live in a provacative outfit made out of an Elmo shirt, she's totally left the boat with her latest video... I smell some lawsuits from CTW on this one despite the fact that it's an obvious parody... and completely hilarious!

Here's another story you won't find hitting many of the airwaves. The major car manufacturers have implemented a new standard with respect to the diagnostic data new cars generate. What this means is that more and more small, independent, less-expensive car repair places cannot work on peoples' cars because they can't decode the diagnostic messages. There's a battle now to change this so anyone can repair their own cars, and not just the elite dealers who can understand the codes.

Italy's financial police (Guardia italiana di Finanza) has seized US bonds worth US 134.5 billion from two Japanese nationals at Chiasso (40 km from Milan) on the border between Italy and Switzerland. They include 249 US Federal Reserve bonds worth US$ 500 million each, plus ten Kennedy bonds and other US government securities worth a billion dollar each.

So far, no American mainstream media has picked up on this pretty scandalous story. Is some government trying to liquidate their shares of T-bills? Or are they fake and this is the largest counterfeit operation ever?

According to Pearl Jam's website, portions of the band's Sunday night set at Lollapalooza were missing from the AT&T Blue Room live webcast. Fans alerted the band to the missing material after the show. Reportedly absent from the webcast were segments of the band's performance of "Daughter," including the sung lines "George Bush, leave this world alone" and "George Bush find yourself another home."

Update: While AT&T claims the censorship was a "mistake", according to Wired's Listening Post, concerts streamed on the Blue Room by The Flaming Lips and the John Butler Trio have also been censored for political reasons. If true, this action coupled with past allegations aimed at AT&T suggests an unnerving pro-Bush political agenda from one of America's biggest telecoms.

What is Tarot?

[Entertainment]
Tarot (also known as Tarock, Tarokk, Taroky, Taroc, Tarok, Tarocchi and similar names) is a family of trick taking card games played with an enlarged deck of 78 cards which include an extra court card for each of the four regular suits, a permanent trump suit of 21 cards, and a kind of "wild card" called "the Fool" or "Excuse." Although seen primarily by many as a means of fortune telling or divination, the Tarot deck was created in northern Italy during the 15th century for playing card games. The notion of a trump suit which survives in such popular card games as Spades and Hearts originated with the game of Tarot.

The myth of Egyptian origins of Tarot, while once common, has long been debunked by later scholars. There is also no record of Tarot cards being used for the occult or divination prior to the 18th century. The Tarot card readings popular at Renaissance Fairs are a creative license taken with historical fact and should not be viewed as authentic. Contrary to popular belief, conventional playing cards were not derived from Tarot decks and the Fool is unrelated to the Joker of conventional playing cards. The Joker was created in the USA during the 19th century originally for the card game Euchre.

(Be All that You Can Be...for two or three times as long as you signed up for.)

But now Congress has solved the problem! Yes, it's raised the maximum age to serve in the U.S. Army yet again, this time to 42. For the first time, we can actually have a multi-generational army! Ok, this is a great story, and it shows how much balls the Europeans have when it comes to freedom of speech and journalism. What's happened is that a Danish newspaper published a characature of Mohammed, the Muslim prophet. Well, Muslims all over the world were outraged and Danish reporters have had to go into hiding over death threats; countries like Saudi Arabia and others are initiating elaborate boycotts of anything and everything Danish as a result of the newspaper's action. Apparently, reproducing any imagine of Mohammed is some sort of grave sin.

However in protest of the Muslim upheval against Denmark, newspapers across Europe have shown the balls that are now non-existent in Western journalism to publish charactures of a variety of religious figures including Mohammed. Where's the American media in all of this? Probably checking with Federal Express, the CATO institute, and Chase Bank to find out what they should print.

Germany's Die Welt daily printed one of the drawings on its front page, arguing that a "right to blasphemy" was anchored in democratic freedoms.

After approving the bill last Friday, Bush issued a "signing statement"--an official document in which a president lays out his interpretation of a new law--declaring that he will view the interrogation limits in the context of his broader powers to protect national security. This means Bush believes he can waive the restrictions, the White House and legal specialists said.

Oh, sure, pass your little anti-torture bill. I'm president[king/emperor for life/supreme leader], so it doesn't apply to me. Yes, I'm sure that's what the system of checks and balances written into the Constitution meant.

[Terroir-ism]
George Galloway is a member of Parliament for Bethnal Green and Bow and stands (falsely) accused by conservative US senators of taking bribes from Iraq in an oil-for-food scandal. His statement before the US Senate is a truly righteous, withering, and devastating critique of the US position in Iraq:

I told the world that Iraq, contrary to your claims did not have weapons of mass destruction.

I told the world, contrary to your claims, that Iraq had no connection to al-Qaeda.

I told the world, contrary to your claims, that Iraq had no connection to the atrocity on 9/11 2001.

I told the world, contrary to your claims, that the Iraqi people would resist a British and American invasion of their country and that the fall of Baghdad would not be the beginning of the end, but merely the end of the beginning.

Senator, in everything I said about Iraq, I turned out to be right and you turned out to be wrong and 100,000 people paid with their lives; 1600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies; 15,000 of them wounded, many of them disabled forever on a pack of lies.

Meanwhile the American press keeps this story low profile.

Just in case there was any doubt among the integrity or intent of the "save Terri" movement, the parents of Terri Schiavo have authorized a conservative direct-mailing firm to sell a list of their financial supporters, making it likely that thousands of strangers moved by her plight will receive a steady stream of solicitations from anti-abortion and conservative groups.

In a story coincedentally related to the fact that Louisiana ranks near the top in toxic pollution,

The World Health Organization said Friday that people should eat less food containing acrylamide, a chemical associated with fried foods that has caused cancer in laboratory rats.

WHO called on governments to urge the food industry to "lower significantly" the acrylamide content in foods such as french fries, potato chips, coffee and grain-based products including bread.

Bush Plants Gay Christian Prostitute In White House Press Corps

Posted by Pile (19522 views) Add this story to MyYahoo Add this article to del.icio.us Submit article to Reddit Add story to Furl Add story to StumbleUpon [E-Mail link]

Another big scandal that mainstream media will gloss over? How about the planting of a fake news reporter, from a fake news agency, in the White House Press Corps by the Bush administration? A paid operative, Bible-preaching Christian that's apparently into gay porn, that didn't even use his real name, but is associated with a number of right-wing propaganda operations!

As the plot thickens and internet cyber sleuths try to track down the "rats nest" of conservative schemers, hiding behind pseudonyms and dummy corporations, Some in Congress are requesting an immediate formal investigation.

UPDATE: Washington Post picks the story up from Bloggers. Score another for alterna-media doing the work of emaciated journalists. Another good expose can be found here.

I especially like the guy's interesting collection of domain names:
Thepeopleschurchdc.org
Dcbiblemarathon.org
Faithfullyspeaking.org
Theconservativeguy.com
Theconservativelegal.com
The-conservative-guy.com
conservative-guy.com
Hotmilitarystud.com
Militaryescorts.com
Militaryescortsm4m.com

Nothing like a Bible-preaching, conservative white house "journalist" who doubles as a pimp for gay military prostitutes.

UPDATE: Editor and Publisher has exposed the guy's real name as James Guckert and that WH Press Secretary knew about his deception.

UPDATE: More evidence of Guckert's lies to CNN and his gay prostitution site. He can't hide the fact that the site was archived and still viewable even though he took it down BUSTED!

UPDATE: Joe Conason asks Where is the 'Liberal Media' that should be covering this story?

UPDATE: Washington Post Continues the saga now that nude pictures are floating around.

UPDATE: Gannon may be the thread that unravels the CBS "memo-gate" scandal, and more Sex, Lies & Jeff Gannon.

U.S. Was "One Word Away" From Nuclear War

Posted by Pile (10804 views) Add this story to MyYahoo Add this article to del.icio.us Submit article to Reddit Add story to Furl Add story to StumbleUpon [E-Mail link]

Historians have long noted that the United States and the Soviet Union came within a whisper of nuclear war during the 13-day standoff after the United States discovered that Moscow had secretly installed nuclear missiles in Cuba. However, what was discovered last year (and apparently not widely covered in the media) was that Russia was in the process of approving a nuclear strike, but one of the three submarine commanders involved decided to not go along with the order.

The information came to light during an assembly of U.S. and Russian authorities for an event commemorating the 40th anniversary. Interesting that the mainstream media last year didn't think that coming so close to world destruction was newsworthy?
