As part of Cindy Sheehan's vigil outside of Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, her group has placed hundreds of white crosses, each bearing the name of an American soldier killed in Iraq, like her own son. This moving graphic display along the side of the road has been dubbed "Arlington in Crawford."

While very little of the display has been shown by the major media, it can't be missed by anyone heading to and from Bush's ranch. However, earlier this evening someone with a pickup truck and a pipe on chains fashioned behind it, ran over the crosses intentionally.

Facist Security Guard Sparks Photographic Free-For-All

Photographer Thomas Hawk was doing what he normally does: wandering around the city taking photographs, until he started taking pictures of the building at One Bush St., and a security guard from within came out and told him taking pictures was illegal and he would call the police.

However, Thomas decided he was well within his legal right and challenged the rent-a-cop who followed him around trying to stop him. He subsequently posted all the details of his event online, and it has now sparked a huge contest where photographers plan to converge en masse to the location and hold a photo contest with prizes and more!

Betty Ostergren, a feisty 56-year-old from just north of Richmond, Virginia, is driven to make important people angry in her quest to call attention to information brokers and corporate insecurity of peoples' personal information. She puts their Social Security numbers on her Web site, or links to where they can be found.

"Don't you think if I can get Tom DeLay's Social Security number . . . that some guy in an Internet cafe in Pakistan can, too?", she asks.

US conservative groups are up in arms over a music video featuring children's TV heroes such as the cheerful cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants.

SpongeBob - who appears on the children's cable channel Nickelodeon - is seen as an icon for adult gay men in the US, apparently because he regularly holds hands with his sidekick Patrick, according to James Dobson, nutball and founder of right-wing Christian group Focus on the Family.

We earlier reported on the Guerilla Nativity scene set up in Florida. Well, the plot thickens...

When a Florida church group put a Nativity scene on public property, officials warned it might open the door to other religious -- and not-so-religious -- displays. They were right.

Since the Nativity was erected in Polk County, displays have gone up honoring Zoroastrianism and the fake holiday Festivus, featured on the TV sitcom "Seinfeld."

You know Christmas marketing is a scam, benefiting manufacturers, stores, and huge corporations, while driving individuals into debt. You know this annual consumer frenzy wreaks havoc on the environment, filling landfills with useless packaging and discarded gifts.
