As part of Cindy Sheehan's vigil outside of Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, her group has placed hundreds of white crosses, each bearing the name of an American soldier killed in Iraq, like her own son. This moving graphic display along the side of the road has been dubbed "Arlington in Crawford."

While very little of the display has been shown by the major media, it can't be missed by anyone heading to and from Bush's ranch. However, earlier this evening someone with a pickup truck and a pipe on chains fashioned behind it, ran over the crosses intentionally.

Way to "support the troops," anonymous pickup driver! Nothing quite says "friend of the military" better than midnight desecration of the symbolic graves of our fallen warriors. And hey, bold use of reasoned argument to sway others to your point of view!

Bush failed. But this mother failed as well. She should have clearly emphasized in his upbringing that war is never an option. Even if called on duty to Iraq, he should have refused. In fact, I remember a long time ago seeing a soldier on tv, who had refused to go to Iraq, and who is now serving jail time (couple months). That is a brave and intelligent decision. It is surprising to me that only now people come to realize that this is a war for oil. After all, if steady embargo

Police have filed a criminal charge against the the man who allegedly expressed his displeasure with Sheehan's protest by driving his pickup truck through rows of crosses bearing the names of soldiers killed in Iraq. Larry Northern, a 59-year-old resident of Waco, Texas, was charged with felony criminal mischief. Police say he ran over 500 crosses and 40 American flags to make his point.

Good, now we can add flag desecration to the charges. I thought right-wing Texans were agin that?
