Financial trading company, TD Ameritrade announced that some of its databases may have been compromised. The company discovered the security breach after their customers complained that they started to receive spam.

TD Ameritrade customer data -- including email addresses, names, addresses and phone numbers -- were retrieved from an internal database, the online brokerage said Friday.

TD Ameritrade launched the investigation in the aftermath of some customers' complaints that they'd received spam e-mail. In the course of the investigation, the company said it discovered and eliminated unauthorized code that allowed an external source to retrieve certain client information from the database in question.
