Karl "Turd Blossom" Rove (I'm not kidding, his FRIENDS really call him that) is the largest rat (literally) to flee the Bush Administration's ship and he's doing it by the end of this month. To justify his departure Mr. Rove pulled out the old "spend more time with my family" chestnut--who knew Rove even HAD a family. A horde, sure. A legion, why not. A coven, maybe. But a family?

Joshua Bolton, Bush's chief of staff (officially the boss of Karl, the deputy chief of staff), declared that anyone who's quitting before the Administration staggers to the end of its term had better quit by Labor Day and Karl's taking this opportunity to skedaddle. One wonders what they would do if you quit AFTER Labor Day--fire you? Tie you down and, Clockwork Orange-like, force you to experience every bumbling domestic and foreign policy decision of the remaining months? Rove was the mastermind behind many of Bush and the Republican's greatest electoral victories--they had total control over the Legislative and Executive branches for six whole years. And aren't things so much better? We'll miss ya, Rove, although I suppose we'll see you in hell.

Good-bye, Rove White House. Hello, Rove 2008 Republican presidential campaign.

Let's hope it goes just as well as the 2006 mid-term elections that Rove "helped" on.

Personally, I think he left so that he could once again have access to a non-monitored e-mail account. (Well, not monitored by anyone other than his buds at NSA, that is.)
