A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said.

"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.

"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."

[Faulty Products]
Hello. My name is Amir Massoud Tofangsazan and i live in Barnet. I'm 19 but pretend to be a lot older and like to pretend that I'm a big businessman when I'm not actually that clever. on 29th November 2005 I sold a laptop on eBay.

Amir thought he was being clever by ripping off someone online, selling them a non-working laptop. Unfortunately, the buyer wasn't merely satisfied with being ripped off, so he scoured the hard drive and found lots of interesting and potentially incriminating pictures and other documents and decided to put up his own web page in homage to his scammer...

Here's a suggestion to you kids out there. I know it's a tough life for you, with parents and school and all that stuff. But if you're running around toting a backpack and car containing hashish, marijuana, compact digital scales, packaging materials, bongs, 4 knives, over a dozen hypodermic syringes, gun powder and potassium nitrate, you might not want to call attention to yourself with a picture of you smoking from a Bong on Myspace. Just a thought. Getting busted trying to make homemade bombs might be a drag, not to mention the whole, "Look at me world, I smoke pot" Myspace attention grab.

Jerry Taylor is the manager for the city of Tuttle, Oklahoma, whose motto is "Where people grow.. Friendly!"

Despite Taylor's claim of having "22 years in computer systems and engineering", he arrived at his web site only to find the Apache installation splash page and started calling the company names listed, accusing them of hacking the city's web site and threatening to report the issue to the FBI, despite being told that the problem was not what he thought. As was obvious, a minor glitch with a web server configuration exposed this Okie's finely-tuned ability to grossly overreact.

This country, as you know, is filled with the deranged. And then there's Travis Frey, a 33-year-old Iowa man who is facing charges that he tried to kidnap his own wife (not to mention a separate child pornography rap). Frey, prosecutors contend, apparently is a rather demanding guy. In fact, he actually drew up a bizarre four-page marriage document--a "Contract of Wifely Expectations"--that sought to establish guidelines for his spouse in terms of hygiene, clothing, and sexual activities.

In return for fulfilling certain requirements, Frey offered "Good Behavior Days," or GBDs. Each GBD, Frey wrote, could be redeemed by his wife to "get out of doing the things" he requested daily.

Just when you think you've seen it all. Just when you think that you've seen the greediest, stupidest thing you can imagine, someone tops it on eBay.

Today's disgusting display is brought to you by Tommy Joyce of Nashville, TN, at the phone number of (615)9578839 as listed on the auction.

Mr. TJ seems to think that his box of Frosted Mini-Wheats with an expiration date of 9/11/01, with a picture of an American Airlines plane is so supernaturally coincedental that it's worth a minimum of $100,000 + $65 for shipping. And just to show you his heart is in the right place, he'll donate a whopping 10% of the final sale price to the 9/11 Children's Fund.

I would write more, but the compassion is making me tear up... everything is blurry...

Here's a tip: never toss a live mouse into a brush fire. Karma's a bitch.

An 81-year-old man in Fort Sumner, NM, did just that recently, with unpleasant results. The mouse, now on fire, ran back to the safety of its home--also the man's home--and set the house on fire.

Attracted by what she thought was a large block of cocaine, a Florida woman hired what she thought was a hit man to kill four people and take the cocaine for herself. She even instructed the hit man to rub out any children in the house who might be old enough to testify. This gal was a serious drug kingpin, right?

FEMA to Homeless: Don't Call Us, We'll Call You.

Kim Calcagno in Marrero escaped hurricane Katrina's wrath and managed to move back into her home not too long after the disaster. Imagine her surprise when she received a phone call from FEMA offering her the use of a trailer as a temporary home. She didn't need the trailer, but her brother, who lost everything and had no place to stay did. Upon asking FEMA if she could get the trailer for her brother, she was told FEMA can't do that, and would eventually get around to contacting her brother regarding living arrangements.

Apparently what's happening is FEMA is randomly calling the 600,000 people who have filed claims and offering trailers, with no logic or method of prioritizing resources on the basis of need. Nevermind that many who are homeless might not be easily contacted, FEMA representative James McIntyre said, "If they've been displaced, they're all in the same situation, regardles of the level of devastation. We have no way of knowing who has returned home and who has not." This makes no sense as they certainly have records of most people who entered shelters, and seem to have no desire whatsoever to coordinate relief efforts with local or state authorities who know which families need help.

Going For A Job Interview? You Might Take Down Your Blog.

[Employment]
These days as people submit their resumes and apply for positions, the due-dilligence process of interviewing potential candidates seems to be expedited to the Nth degree if you're running a blog, as evidenced in this Human Resource Committee's comments:
It would never occur to the committee to ask what a candidate thinks about certain people's choice of fashion or body adornment, which countries we should invade, what should be done to drivers who refuse to get out of the passing lane, what constitutes a real man, or how the recovery process from one's childhood traumas is going. But since the applicant elaborated on many topics like those, we were all ears. And we were a little concerned. It's not our place to make the recommendation, but we agreed a little therapy (of the offline variety) might be in order.

Apparently times are tough. Teens are now getting warnings that inhaling compressed air dusting aerosol cans can be harmful or fatal to your health.

Here's some advice to stupid teenagers: anything will get you "high" or possibly dead. Why waste time huffing household objects? Simply pick up any heavy object and whack it against your head a few times. It's more efficient.
