Karl "Turd Blossom" Rove (I'm not kidding, his FRIENDS really call him that) is the largest rat (literally) to flee the Bush Administration's ship and he's doing it by the end of this month. To justify his departure Mr. Rove pulled out the old "spend more time with my family" chestnut--who knew Rove even HAD a family. A horde, sure. A legion, why not. A coven, maybe. But a family?

Pentagon Endorses Apocolyptic Video Game Sent To Soldiers

Posted by Pile (11613 views) Add this story to MyYahoo Add this article to del.icio.us Submit article to Reddit Add story to Furl Add story to StumbleUpon [E-Mail link]

The "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" video game, is set in a "post apocalyptic" New York that looks almost exactly like New York City after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and lets players simulate commanding a paramilitary Christian army that seeks to convert Jews, mainline Christians, Muslims, atheists, Buddhists, and everyone else in New York City to fundamentalist Christianity. All who resist will be killed.

Now, with the blessing and endorsement of the Pentagon, a Christian ministry with apocalyptic fundamentalist beliefs that is planning a series of tours it calls a 'military crusade' to entertain US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq will also be distributing the "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" 'Convert or Die' religious warfare video game....

To US troops.

What ?

Let me repeat:

The United States Pentagon has endorsed sending a Christian supremacist religious warfare video game to United States troops in Iraq, a predominantly Muslim nation.

Osama Bin Laden himself could hardly hardly have hatched a better plot to incite widespread war between Christianity and Islam.

Time Magazine Story Identifies What Really Destroyed New Orleans

Posted by Pile (12018 views) Add this story to MyYahoo Add this article to del.icio.us Submit article to Reddit Add story to Furl Add story to StumbleUpon [E-Mail link]

[Environment]
The most important thing to remember about the drowning of New Orleans is that it wasn't a natural disaster. It was a man-made disaster, created by lousy engineering, misplaced priorities and pork-barrel politics. Katrina was not the Category 5 killer the Big Easy had always feared; it was a Category 3 storm that missed New Orleans, where it was at worst a weak 2. The city's defenses should have withstood its surges, and if they had we never would have seen the squalor in the Superdome, the desperation on the rooftops, the shocking tableau of the Mardi Gras city underwater for weeks. We never would have heard the comment "Heckuva job, Brownie." The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was the scapegoat, but the real culprit was the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which bungled the levees that formed the city's man-made defenses and ravaged the wetlands that once formed its natural defenses. Americans were outraged by the government's response, but they still haven't come to grips with the government's responsibility for the catastrophe.

US Army 1943 Guide To Iraq

In 1943, The US Army published a guide to Iraq to help soldiers during World War II.
You have been ordered to Iraq (i - RAHK) as part of the world-wide offensive to beat Hitler.

You will enter Iraq both as a soldier and as an individual, because on our side a man can be both a soldier and an individual. That is our strength—if we are smart enough to use it. It can be our weakness if we aren't. As a soldier your duties are laid out for you. As an individual, it is what you do on your own that counts—and it may count for a lot more than you think.

American success or failure in Iraq may well depend on whether the Iraqis (as the people are called) like American soldiers or not. It may not be quite that simple. But then again it could...

Attorneys Michael P. Laffey and Robert P. With the case set to go to trial on July 23, the defense lawyers recently filed a flurry of motions, including one that asked Eastern District of Pennsylvania Judge Gene E.K. Pratter to prohibit the plaintiff from mentioning Bush’s name.

Sen. David Vitter, R-La., apologized Monday night for "a very serious sin in my past" after his telephone number appeared among those associated with an escort service operated by the so-called "D.C. Madam."

This is likely just the beginning as the phone records have been leaked onto the Internet. While the mainstream media reported there were no members of government on the lists, Internet detectives have proven otherwise. Join the investigation yourself and look at the records.

Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) first got his start in Congress after replacing former Rep. Bob Livingston (R-LA), who “abruptly resigned after disclosures of numerous affairs” in 1998. At the time, Vitter argued that an extramarital affair was grounds for resignation:

“I think Livingston’s stepping down makes a very powerful argument that Clinton should resign as well and move beyond this mess,” he said. [Atlanta Journal and Constitution, 12/20/98]

This is fortunate for the government as they are also the one with the list of those they were (allegedly) illegally wiretapping and they aren't eager to go posting that information on their blogs. So that's quite a pickle- you don't have standing to sue the government unless you're affected by the wiretapping and the government won't tell you IF you were affected by the wiretapping so that you can then sue... them. Fortunately for Wendell Belew he got this document one day...

A lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union has uncovered a manual from the Bush Administration detailing its tactics for suppressing protests at presidential appearances. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of two people from Colorado who were forcibly removed from a presidential "Town Hall Meeting" because their car had a bumper sticker that said, "No more blood for oil." They have obtained a copy of the "Presidential Advance Manual," which details tactics "to stop a demonstrator from getting into the event." A section titled "Preventing Demonstrators" advises event organizers to recruit local Republicans into "Rally Squads" whose "task is to use their signs and banners as shields between the demonstrators and the main press platform. If the demonstrators are yelling, rally squads can begin and lead supportive chants to drown out the protestors [sic] (USA! USA! USA!) As a last resort, security should remove the protestors from the event site."

JFK Terrorism Informant Was A Pinched Drug Trafficker

Earlier this month, when federal officials announced charges against four men for plotting to blow up gas lines at JFK, a paid "confidential source" was credited with infiltrating the terror cell and gathering critical information. A footnote in a criminal complaint notes that the source had two prior drug convictions and was, through his cooperation, seeking leniency in sentencing on the latter trafficking rap.

It seems this so-called valuable informant was a drug dealer who was caught with $2M in cocaine, tried to murder a rival drug lord in New York, and was looking to get his own sentence reduced in the process of turning over these goofball terrorists which nobody in their right mind thought were capable of doing as much damage as the media claimed.

The Smoking Gun has learned the identity of this informant and the more you know, the more you understand how "reliable" this guy likely was.

In 2005 she made the invisible visible. The bereaved mom of a US soldier killed in Iraq, Sheehan cried in public, cursed in public and gave public voice to what for many was until then a private question. Why did my son die, she asked the president: "What is the noble cause?"

Two years later, activist Cindy Sheehan pushed another question into the public glare. Quitting the Democratic Party and resigning from the front ranks of the US anti-war movement, Sheehan said out loud what hundreds of Democratic voters have been muttering: Democrats in Congress -who do you think you're working for?

The Department of Homeland Security, the new government meta-agency tasked with keeping our entire country safe from terrorist attacks both foreign and domestic, has come up with one humdinger of an idea. Having apparently run out of ideas on how to predict the next terrorist attack, they are turning to a group of people who are experts at making stuff up. When you're the government agency looking for some ideas about the future of terror, who do you turn to? Science fiction writers, of course.

An Arizona state lawmaker is calling for John McCain to resign from the Senate for missing too many votes.

Republican Representative Russell Pearce of Mesa says Arizona's interests aren't being heard because John McCain is skipping Senate votes to campaign for a spot in the White House.

"He's our Senator and we elected him," said Pearce. "This is about representing Arizona properly."

According to The Washington Post, McCain has missed almost 50% of Senate votes during the current Congress. This comes at a time when taxpayers are paying McCain a salary of $165,200 to represent Arizonans on the Senate floor.

The only other Senator with a worse record is South Dakota's Tim Johnson who has been out recovering from a brain hemorrhage.

After first sending a bold message to the President that Congress would no longer give Bush a blank check of taxpayer dollars for his war without end, the second go-round has Congressional leaders doing a 180-degree turn and giving the Executive branch exactly what they want: a blank check with no demand for troop withdrawal timetables.

The American people are furious, and some organizations are sending a strong message to Congress: NO BLANK CHECK. We here at BSAlert will keep you informed as to each and every Congressman who votes for this spineless bill that further authorizes the war machine. Democrats and Republicans are no longer safe: if you don't listen to the American people, you will be out of a job. There's also a petition to sign.

George W. Bush Becomes Dictator During Next "Catastrophe"

In what the mainstream media has largely ignored, President Bush signed an executive order on May 9th effectively making Congress and the rest of government obsolete in the event of another attack or national catastrophe. Bush basically becomes a dictator, in complete charge of the U.S. government.

Under that plan, he entrusts himself with leading the entire federal government, not just the Executive Branch. And he gives himself the responsibility “for ensuring constitutional government.” The definition of a "catastrophe" is quite vague as well, and certainly another Katrina or perhaps even some minor attack at a location that disrupts some utility service would trigger Bush's super governmental powers and render Congress useless (assuming anyone thought they were useful in the first place).

He laid this all out in a document entitled "National Security Presidential Directive/NSPD 51" and "Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-20."

Hypocrisy is a word that gets thrown around A LOT these days, mostly in political circles. But how would one define hypocrisy? Sure, I could look it up in a dictionary but that takes too long and could potentially involve paper cuts. Let us instead cast about for examples in modern life. Take, for example, a man who strongly believes (and says it loudly) that those who sit on the far right of the political spectrum have the strongest moral fiber, the best values. No, THIS is not hypocrisy (merely delusion)--what IS hypocrisy is to do so while doing what he's being charged with doing to little girls.
