Peanut Butter Proves God Created Life?

[Pseudo-Science]
Did you know that a jar of peanut butter holds the key to demonstrating the "fact" that creation is real and evolution is phony? Check out this amusing video from Christian anti-science proponent, Chuck Missler.

Most of us with half a brain don't even need to go into the details of why this video and premise is profoundly ludicrous, but if there's one thing I've learned, it's to never underestimate the stupidity of a substantive portion of the populace, so feel free to add your own comments on the presentation's failings.

Among other obvious issues, I make note:

1. The circumstances under which scientists posit that life spontaneously happened are far different from the example of a peanut butter jar. The earth had hundreds of millions of years of trial and error to produce the conditions to create life. We as humans are a mere blip the surface of this never-ending experiment.

2. Even presupposing the idea that peanut butter is an ideal medium for spontaneously creating life, how can this guy claim this has not happened? Did he (and the millions of others whom he claims partook in this "experiment") look at the jar of peanut butter microscopically? Did he expect Elvis Presley to come out of the jar, and anything short of that proves Jesus is real?

Creationists seem to love to hyper-literally interpret scientific claims. They take the theories completely out of context and/or leave out a major component like quantum levels of TIME. They make ridiculous statements like, "I haven't seen a monkey turn into a man so therefore man didn't come from monkeys. Let's see a rock become alive. No? See your theory fails."

By the way, here's one of the other classic "Atheist Nightmare" videos:

And here's a response to the banana video:

Some more thoughts on the issue:

By the way, this is a great example of "Poe's Law":

Similar to Murphy's Law, Poe's Law concerns internet debates, particularly regarding religion or politics.

"Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing."

In other words, No matter how bizzare, outrageous, or just plain idiotic a parody of a Fundamentalist may seem, there will always be someone who cannot tell that it is a parody, having seen similar REAL ideas from real religious/political Fundamentalists.

Energy?

Here's another little flaw in the peanut butter (non)theory--he states that the jar is exposed to energy in the form of heat and light. Well, yeah--room temperature heat and ordinary daylight or electric light. I wonder what would happen if we exposed that peanut butter to the kinds of energy that scientists postulate for the forming earth--repeated lightning strikes, erupting volcanoes, magnetic storms hitting without the benefit of a shielding ozone layer--because life came first, then the oxygen-rich atmosphere we're used to was created by that life as a waste product.

So let's see what a few million jigawatts plus a few million years would do to that peanut butter. I'm sure the evolution skeptics will be willing to wait around for the results. I mean, they're already busy waiting for God to return and all....

I can't speak for other atheists, but I happen to be allergic to Bananas. Is God punishing me for being an atheist by making the back of my throat itchy whenever I eat a banana?
This is funny as f*ck!

What are you talking about? The banana's god's perfect food! How dare you dispute that fact! I mean, it's not like there are other fruits in the world quite so perfect and healthy! I mean, Pomegranates? Pff... Figs? Naw. Guava? what a joke.

God wanted us to eat bananas.

Like gorillas do.

Wait... what?

Wasn't this pic on America's Home Videos? Guy with banana, You can make anything out of nothing by words in english, make a fool of yourself or vice versa. No God does not want us to eat banana's. You missed the point. But here's a interesting note for the future: Where are you going to spend eternity, is all that matters. Yeah, I can hardly wait for the insightful replies of all that education in college paying off, by what I read. But I am moving on. So long, sleeping american

IT'S PEANUT BUTTA JELLY TIME! PEANUT BUTTA JELLY TIME! PEANUT BUTTA JELLY TIME!PEANUT BUTTA JELLY TIME!
Okay, sorry about that.

Monotheists believe that a single massively complex could exist forever but that a much simpler universe could not.

They believe that a problem exists that only that creator god can save them from without acknowledging that it is the fault of that same omnipotent being that the problem exists to begin with.

George W. Bush and his neo-conservative supporters believe that they can stabilize the wildly chaotic environment of civil war Iraq with A Few Good Men over a handful of years. But they find it unbelievable that given billions of years of chemical reactions under immense heat, pressure and electrical flux it's possible that there might form molecular patterns that start to repeat themselves into more and more stable forms. And /we're/ the ones accused of stretching limits of plausibility.
