Historical Parallels...Nero, not Hitler

You know those comparisons of Bush to Hitler? It seems that a better historical comparison is to the Roman emperor Nero.

For example, Nero took a lot of heat for being on an extended vacation when a great tragedy (that famous fire) struck Rome. He responded by finding a wacky religious group (those crazy blood-drinking Christians!) to pin the fire on, then waged all-out war on them, making the people forget that his neglect led to the fire in the first place.

Sound familiar? Gives a whole new meaning to "old-fashioned values," doesn't it?
