I think people are a little too paranoid. we shouldn't be scared and frightened, the only country that could concievably pose a threat is china, they match us for military, technology, but have twice the population. these bombings are an act of desperation or manipulation. i can hardly imagine any more than that. they are trying to rattle us with their terror (i've never liked the use of that word) and some of us are letting them. it should be business as usual, so we can say "we are a bigger nation, a stronger nation, and noone or nothing can cripple us. so you blew up some buildings. well we'll build 'em bigger. these forces will never be large enough to full-on attack us, hell our own people bomb us- remember the olympics and federal building. this is modern life. we wanted the race for technology and everything that comes with it, well we got it. but it won't stop us. and no amount of troops will stop them. they are a hidden force and the best defense is right here in our homeland, screening aliens and tourists. if we keep focusing on one type of people; i.e.: muslims and such, then they will just change their image. one day they'll be wearing cowboy hats and have lighter skin, then what will we do. so until then defense is a better strategy for the terrorists than seek and destroy. it costs our money and our lives. and if other countries want our help LET THEM ASK FOR IT. |
