Normally right-wing Dallas County, Texas, didn't just vote for Bush in the last election. It also elected the county's first Democratic Mexican lesbian sheriff. The election was sealed by Republican scandal and changing demographics. So much for the much-lauded "moral values" Americans supposedly want. People seem to care more about their law enforcement officials actually fighting crime and not stealing from the taxpayer than they worry about who the sheriff goes home to at night.
