In case you weren't aware, the government is set to start sending people "stimulus checks" this week. What does it mean? Comedian Dave Barry sums it up nicely...

Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?

A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this money?

A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?

A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?

A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?

A. Shut up.

Stimulus?

It's gonna take a whole lot more than $600 to stimulate this economy! With the price of gasoline at almost $4.00 a gallon, we'll be using this money just to fill our tanks and our bellies.
Being that we've been borrowing billions of dollars from China to finance the war in the Middle East, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to learn that this is where the stimulus money is coming from. It also may surprise some to learn that the U.S. has been repaying some of these loans by giving away (to China) government owned land. China is buying our country!
The dollar bill isn't even worth the paper it's printed on, since there is nothing to back it up i.e. gold, silver. Now they want to start making our coins from steel!
