U.S. prosecutors on Monday charged David Stockman, a former chief executive of Collins & Aikman Corp, and other former executives of fraud.

Stockman, a former Reagan administration budget director, and the other ex-Collins & Aikman executives are accused of misleading the company's investors to hide its true financial condition, according to the indictment brought by federal prosecutors in Manhattan.

Feds Act To Silence D.C. Madam From Exposing Her Clients

Federal prosecutors want to gag an indicted former Washington, D.C. madam who has recently threatened to go public with details about her former customers. In a motion filed Monday in U.S. District Court, investigators are seeking a protective order covering discovery material to be provided to Deborah Palfrey and her lawyers. Palfrey, 50, was indicted last week on racketeering and money laundering charges stemming from her operation of the Pamela Martin & Associates escort service, which closed last summer after 13 years in business.

This could be interesting. You have to figure whichever republican didn't use her services was probably gay.

MPAA Caught Pirating Software

Posted by Pile (25196 views) Add this story to MyYahoo Add this article to del.icio.us Submit article to Reddit Add story to Furl Add story to StumbleUpon [E-Mail link]

The Chairman of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America). You remember the MPAA right? This is the high-and-mighty organization that is in charge of convincing and threatening people with legal action if they violate copyright or licensing terms of movies and music.

It turns out the MPAA blog is run by a piece of software called "Forest Blog" - a Freeware blog, and one of the few things the author asks is that if you use the software in a commercial environment, pay about $40 for the registration, and don't remove the links to the author's original site.

Of course, the MPAA apparently installed the software, didn't register and removed the links and credits from it before they let their executives use the blog software to rant and rave about the evils of piracy.

To make matters worse, the MPAA ignored the author's initial requests to legitimize the software, until it became public, then they pulled the site and sent him a letter saying the blog they installed was a "proof of concept" and didn't have its own domain, so therefore it wasn't an issue. Even though then, they didn't pay for the software!

Joe Rogan Verses Carlos Mencia

[Liars]
Normally we don't post goofy celebrity crap on this site. I could care less about Anna Nicole Smith or which closet Tom Cruise is hiding in, but the delicious irony of this was too tempting...

Joe Rogan says, So here's how it all went down...I had a set at the comedy store Saturday night, and after I closed, I was bringing on the next comedian, a guy named Kirk Fox that works for Carlos Mencia. I introduce him saying that he's a funny guy, and that he opens on the road for Carlos "Menstealia." That’s the name we call him at the comedy store, and of course Carlos doesn't like it one bit. Carlos was apparently in the room when I said this, and the perfect combination of ego and timing made him decide that this was the night to put his foot down. As I got off stage and headed towards the back of the room, he grabbed the mike away from Kirk, and said that I was too much of a pussy to say that shit to his face. Which to me, is something akin to the hottest girl in the world daring you to f*ck her while you're standing there in her bedroom naked with a boner..."

Update: Carlos Mencia has apparently turned into a whiny baby and forced Rogan's agency to dump him.

Since Carlos Mencia isn't original, isn't Mexican, and isn't talented, and wants to destroy Joe Rogan for exposing his theft of other comedians' material, why not send a message to comedy central about how you feel. Maybe if enough of us complain, Mencia can get a dose of his own medicine? Also, here's a petition to get Mencia off Comedy Central.

Dr. Phil Invites Guest On His Show Just To Kick Him Off

What happens when you get two guys together, both who exploit people with issues in front of cameras, for their own personal wealth and ego? Delicious Irony of course.

Watch as the infamous Dr. Phil stages this mock invitation of the creator of Bumfights onto his show, just so he can kick him off and look superior. Bonus points for the guy from Bumfights dressing and doing his hair exactly like Dr. Phil. Granted, the bumfights guy is probably one of the lowest forms of human on the planet, but it's just obnoxious for Dr. Phil to invite the guy on his show, run a clip and description of the guy's video series, then kick him off and say he's not going to promote him.

Bush In Vietnam: We'll Succeed If We Don't Quit

I honestly don't mean to appear to be some sort of cheerleader for Keith Olbermann, but he does make many excellent points, and due to the "biased liberal media," he's largely alone in the mainstream world of news when it comes to discussing U.S. history and the implications of the future based on the past and present.

In light of Bush's trip to Vietnam, Olbermann launches another tirade, pointing out the irony of Bush's current policies all the while dancing across the hallowed ground where a predecessor's lie got 58,000 American troops killed, and then has the audacity to comment about Iraq policy and the importance of not withdrawing.

Olbermann points out that the threat of communism taking over the world if we don't stop North Vietnam, didn't exactly pan out as President Lyndon Johnson claimed it would, and Bush has his own spin on the very same agenda with Iraq.
