[Beating Dead Horses]
Following a traditional night of sitting beside his fireplace reading fiction with a lukewarm cup of cocoa, Steve Irwin retired to bed, drifted into a peaceful slumber, and never awoke. Authorities discovered the "freak accident" death of TV's famous "Crocodile Hunter" the following day.

The community is now mourning this unforseen circumstance. Many thought that Irwin's history of provoking, coralling and manhandling dangerous creatures might lead to his ultimate demise. This unanticipated "freak accident" has proven otherwise.

Is this how he died?

I heard he died from being lacerated by a stingray's tail, which is laced with poison.

I think he was making a joke because the media claimed it was a freak accident and the guy had a history of messing with animals.

In my view, it was a freak accident. When I lived in Tucson, I walked over and petted some doberman pinchers who were supposed to be protecting their owner who was carrying a wad of cash to the bank.

also in Tucson, I was running on a trail and, once, I almost stepped on a coiled rattle snake. other times, I moved them off the trail with a stick.

the only animals that *really* scare me are yellow jackets since i've stepped on their nests a few times and been stung silly...
